In the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, you can meet several new characters. These famous characters will work with you or even against you throughout the story, and one of the new characters you can meet is Alex. She was on Solomon Reed’s previous team when they worked with the FIA and went undercover in Dogtown as a bartender.
As you progress through Phantom Liberty’s story, your choices will determine the consequences. There is a point where Alex is with antagonist Kurk Hansen and her goal is to destroy him during the Firestarter mission. However, if things go a certain way, she may die. Is there a way to save Alex in Phantom Liberty in Cyberpunk 2077?
How to save Alex from death in Phantom Liberty
The moment you’ll have to decide whether Alex lives or dies in Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion comes during the Firestarter mission. Here, you and Alex will pretend to be a couple of NetRunners going to Kurt Hansen Stadium to make a deal. Here your character will have to make an important choice with the help of Songbird. You can side with Songbird and help her escape, or you can side with Reed and stop Songbird from escaping.
If you choose to side with Songbird, Alex will choose between two options. You can watch her fight against Kurt Hansen from your seat, and she crashes through the window, screaming at Reed that you and Songbird are trying to escape. In the rest of Phantom Liberty, this will be the last time you see Alex until you reach the end of this expansion in Cyberpunk 2077 and you meet Alex again at her bar.
However, if you side with Reed, Songbird becomes horrified. She walks past Blackwall and tries to use it against you when you use Reed’s IceBreaker program on her, causing the stadium to collapse. As this happens, Hansen sees what is happening and rushes the disguised Alex, killing her. You will then come face to face with Hansen and will have to fight him, which is what Reed encourages you to do since he just destroyed Alex.
Siding with Songbird is the best idea for those who want Alex to survive to the end of Cyberpunk 2077. Even if you break Reed’s trust, you will protect Alex, and there is a chance that all three of you will be able to make it out alive by the end of the expansion.
