Cyberpunk 2077: How to start DLC?

Finally, after the massive update 2.0, players have another reason to return to the fascinating and dangerous world of Cyberpunk 2077. The long-awaited addition called Phantom Liberty will open up a completely new area of Night City with many new storylines and characters. However, in order to embark on new adventures, you first need to start the DLC itself, and in this article we will tell you how to do this.

Dog City is a separate enclave in the Pacifica region, guarded by an entire army of free mercenaries . This new area includes new quests, weapons and equipment, as well as a completely new perk tree that you can unlock by completing the first mission in the DLC. Find out what you need to immediately jump into the story of Phantom Freedom.

HOW TO START PHANTOM LIBERTY?

After installing Phantom Liberty (this is a separate paid extension), launch the game and wait for the mysterious caller to contact you.

If you want to play as a character from an existing save, the following requirements must be met:

  • You should have reached Act 2 by now.
  • The Human Factors main quest in Pacifica must be completed.

On the other hand, you can simply start a new game and jump straight into Phantom Liberty. To do this you need:

  • Start a new game from the main menu and select the “Start with the events of Phantom Freedom” option.
  • An unknown caller will contact V, but be prepared for this to happen within a few minutes.
  • The “Dog Eat Dog” quest will begin , during which you will be sent to Dog Town, a new area of Night City.
  • Once you are able to penetrate the walls of this closed city, it will begin a separate storyline with a completely new quest chain.

HOW TO GET TO PESIY TOWN?

If you try to get into the Dog City without an invitation, you will immediately be attacked, as armed mercenaries carefully guard access to their extremely unfriendly community and do not let just anyone in. Therefore, at the checkpoint, you first need to talk to a new character named Jay, who, in fact, sent you here to ask for help.

For your own safety, Jay is blocking the biochip with Johnny Silverhand’s engram. But don’t worry, the developers are not so cruel as to separate players forever from this charismatic character played by Keanu Reeves, and in the end you will be able to reunite with your imaginary friend.

Agreeing to help Jay will trigger the main DLC storyline starter quest called Dog Eat Dog. You’ll also unlock a new skill tree called Relic, which can be upgraded with special Relic Points. They can be obtained by finding Militech data terminals in Dog City, indicated on the map with a blue icon (they themselves look like yellow boxes).

Jay will lead you into the city through an underground passage leading to the central market. You can try to sneak past a small group of mercenaries or simply kill them. Next through the market you will find yourself at a construction site in the center of an abandoned stadium, where the fun begins.

We will not reveal the further scenario of events, so as not to spoil your impression of this exciting DLC. Let us only warn you that the main storyline of Phantom Liberty is long enough for a separate game, and the prologue alone will take you about 3 hours.
