You will be searching for a cure to the petrification disease within the Barren Swamp zone of Lies of P before the whole world collapses.
Following your triumphant victory over Champion Victor at the conclusion of the Grand Exhibition in “Lies of P,” your next destination lies within the ominous Barren Swamp. Venigni hints that Golden Ergo holds the potential to cure the certification disease, and to unveil this possibility, you must confront the formidable monster dwelling in the Barren Swamp region of “Lies of P.”
The Barren Swamp stands as a perilous terrain, marred by treacherous adversaries and noxious pools that demand navigation. It is prudent to pay a visit to Hotel Krat for necessary preparations and to bolster your capabilities before embarking on your journey to the Barren Swamp in “Lies of P.”
How to complete Lies of P Barren Swamp
Proceed forward from the Champion Victor boss room, maintaining your course along the uncomplicated path. As you reach the culmination, you’ll emerge from the gallery and encounter a tram destined for Barren Swamp in “Lies of P,” conveniently stationed nearby. However, prior to boarding, engage in a conversation with the nearby Red Fox and Black Cat. They will make a request for a Gold Coin Fruit. Fulfilling their request will earn you the ‘Quixotic’ Record and the ‘Beg’ gesture.
Continuing onward, after a brief exchange with Venigni, you’ll have the opportunity to embark on the tram journey, transporting you to the Barren Swamp Tram Station.
Barren Swamp Entrance
Descend the stairs to the lower level and access the door on the left. Inside, in front of you near the boxes, lies a Resplendent Ergo Fragment. Now, turn to your left and proceed to the next room. Here, on the first operating table to the left, you’ll find Venigni’s Krat Landmark Guide IV.
Exit this room and in the open area, you can activate the Barren Swamp Entrance Stargazer. As you move along the path, Gemini will start offering comments on the surroundings. Among the rubble on the path, you’ll come across Gemini’s Iron Protection. Continue advancing and take a left turn, where you’ll encounter an elite Slag Puppet. Employ well-timed parries and remain by its side, accumulating stagger damage in the hopes of dispatching it swiftly. Upon defeat, it will drop a Star Fragment.
Press onward, dealing with the various puppets you encounter, ranging from standard human types to dog varieties. Following the path, you’ll eventually notice a cliff opening to the right leading to a poison swamp pool with a roaming dog puppet. Defeat the puppet, then make your way to the right where another dog puppet is sleeping and eliminate it.
Continue along this path until you spot a burning fire to the left. Take a step forward but exercise caution, as a puppet ball will roll down the cliff from the right. Quickly step back to evade it. Now, ascend the right path, where you’ll encounter an Elite Fat Clown Puppet. This adversary can be quite vexing.
The optimal strategy involves maintaining a distance to provoke its long-range wind-up chain punch attack. Dodging this move is straightforward, and while the puppet is stuck in the animation, you can approach and execute your attacks. Repeat this process until it succumbs, but beware of its rapid belly slam attack, which inflicts substantial damage. Defeating it will yield the Legion Caliber item.
Proceed up the hill beyond where the clown enemy was situated and take the first right turn, where two gunmen are stationed. Eliminate them and acquire the Legion Magazine from the spot where they were positioned. Return and opt for the left path instead. In the distance, you’ll spot a solitary sword puppet obstructing the path on a narrow bridge. Employ a throwing weapon or any means to attract its attention and draw it towards you in an open area.
Upon vanquishing it, cross the bridge and enter the tower. To your left, a puppet will advance in your direction. Avoid hasty dodges and stand your ground to eliminate the puppet. Proceed upwards, and you’ll observe a small plank extending to the right. Walk along it and retrieve the Half Moonstone at the far end.
Return to the upper path above, vanquish the puppets, and collect the Special Resistance Ampoule. Proceed along the plank extending from the tower, enter the shack straight ahead, and retrieve the Chain item situated behind the boxes. Exit the shack, then pull the lever adjacent to the minecart on the left.
A brief cutscene will ensue as the cart collides with a gate, opening a shortcut leading back to the Stargazer near the Barren Swamp entrance in Lies of P. If necessary, take this opportunity to rest.
In any case, return to the area where the minecart was located. This time, continue straight until you encounter a ladder. Ascend the ladder and reach the top of the tower, where an Elite Flaming Sword Puppet stands guard beside a chest. Eliminate the puppet to acquire a Star Fragment, then open the chest to obtain the Recharged Amulet. If needed, return to the Stargazer once more to rest, and then revisit the tower.
This time, proceed all the way to the bottom, bypassing the breakable boxes obstructing your path to the ladder leading downwards. Prepare to engage the Elite Slag Puppet at the bottom. Dispatching it will yield a Star Fragment and a Special Purification Ampoule. Additionally, be sure to retrieve the Radiant Ergo Fragment on the ground and the Throwing Cell located slightly to the side. Now, return to the Stargazer and rest.
After resting, head back through the gate that the minecart had previously breached. Instead of proceeding straight ahead, veer right from this path. A short distance ahead, you will encounter Alidoro, the hound who specializes in trading boss weapons and equipment. Following your conversation with him, continue onward, crossing the bridge, and acquire the Electric Blitz Canister to your right.
Descend the path and defeat the Pitchfork Puppet you encounter. However, remain vigilant, as an Explosive Dog Puppet will abruptly pounce at you in a suicide attack. Following this, continue advancing. Eliminate the resting puppet on the side, as well as the Dog and Worker puppets near the bottom of the path. Finally, collect the Crescent Moonstone situated on the ground near the bottom.
Continue advancing until you come across a tree to the side, where a Vivid Ergo Fragment lies at the base. Ahead of you, a vast open area unfolds. Descend along the path, but be cautious of Large Metal Spears being fired at you from a distance. Keep in mind that these spears can also harm enemies, so use this information to your advantage.
Head to the left and stick to the wall’s side to retrieve a Radiant Ergo Fragment from the swamp. Engage and defeat the two legless puppets in this area. Additionally, exercise caution when approaching a large box nearby, as a puppet will burst out from inside when you draw near.
After dealing with these threats, proceed along the small poison pool to the opposite end from where you obtained the Radiant Ergo Fragment. As you continue forward from this point, take a right turn into a small cave, where you will encounter an Elite Police Puppet armed with an Electric Baton. Its moveset closely resembles that of typical Police mob puppets you’ve encountered before, so exercise patience and seize opportunities to strike.
Eliminate this puppet to acquire a Star Fragment and some extra loot. Furthermore, do not forget to pick up Gemini’s Emergency Protection near the burning bonfire. Delve deeper into the cave, and when the cave expands, take a right to acquire a Dark Moon Moonstone of the Covenant.
Now go further ahead and activate the Stargazer. You will also find a Broken Puppet NPC who you can talk to and teach him about various emotions. When you teach him about sadness, he will give you an Attribute Resistance Ampoule. After teaching him how to clap, he will give you a Radiant Ergo Fragment.
Once done here, backtrack and enter the actual Barren Swamp area.
Once you find yourself in the swamp, stick to the left side as you ascend a small hill, where you can collect a Dim Ergo Fragment. From this point, turn around and head straight in the opposite direction. You’ll notice a small open gap next to a tree. Enter this gap, eliminate the puppet, and be sure to retrieve the Attribute Purification Ampoule from the dead-end.
Exit this path and head to the right. Proceed to the lone puppet standing atop a pile of dismantled puppets, and pick up the Half Moonstone located nearby. Eliminate the nearby puppets and continue towards the tower in front, where you can pick up a Steel pipe on the left side of the path leading to it.
Further ahead, you’ll encounter an Elite Police Puppet. You can choose to bypass it and enter the tower directly. Quickly grab the Radiant Ergo Fragment on the ground, then ascend the ladder. Inside, you’ll find a puppet operating a spear gun. Defeat the puppet and destroy the machine as well.
Adjacent to that, you’ll spot a Treasure Chest that you can open to obtain the Live Puppet’s Axe Blade and Live Puppet’s Axe Handle. Following this, return to the Stargazer in the cave and take the opportunity to rest.
Continuing straight ahead from the Stargazer, you’ll enter another extensive area filled with poison pools and a different spear-shooting machine.
As you enter this swamp, you’ll encounter two Puppet of the Future bosses. Dealing with them is straightforward, and you can engage them one at a time. Just be cautious of their spinning arm attack and the slam attack when you’re in close proximity.
The rest of their moveset is fairly straightforward, and you can also take advantage of the spear environmental hazard to dispatch them more quickly. Ideally, lure them out of the poison swamp pools before engaging in battle. Upon defeating them, each will yield a Quartz.
After dealing with them, search for a small island with two carriages on its side and a barrel with a burning piece of wood in between them. Approach the barrel to spawn a Purple Dimensional Butterfly in Lies of P. Eliminate it to acquire some loot.
Following that, take the path to the right from where you initially entered the swamp. Move toward the large box near the carriage and burning barrel to trigger the puppet inside to break out. Once it does, you can collect an Attribute Resistance Ampoule from the ground nearby.
Now proceed a bit further past the carriage while keeping an eye on the raised platform to the right. Ascend to the platform where you’ll find two Puppets playing dead near a Sharp Pipe item ripe for the taking. Defeat them and retrieve the Sharp Pipe. Afterward, drop down and move forward to the right end of the puppet pile where you can pick up a Vivid Ergo Fragment. Here, you will also spawn another Purple Dimensional Butterfly, and eliminating it will yield a Balance Crank.
Continue along the path to the right until you spot a Treasure Chest near the left wall. Exercise caution as some puppet mobs will emerge from the toxic pool. After disposing of them, unlock the Chest to obtain the Fancy Venigni Collection.
Now retrace your steps to the other side of the swamp while keeping close to the right wall. You’ll find a Sawtoothed Wheel lying in the swamp ahead on this path. Pick it up and adjust your view slightly to the left, then proceed straight up the rising pathway in the distance.
As you follow this path, you’ll come across a dilapidated settlement system with a wooden ramp leading to it on the right. Follow this path and be prepared to face Carcass mobs from this point onward. Two of them will attack as soon as you ascend the ramp. Dispose of them and take the ramp that descends further. From here, step onto the small, isolated plank and follow the path ahead until you reach a Crescent Moonstone item that you can collect.
Next, turn to the right and leap onto the suspended plank, where you can retrieve a Fire Canister. Turn around to the opposite side of where the Fire Canister was located and jump onto this platform. Turn left and eliminate the two Carcasses, then proceed forward and dispatch the lone Carcass standing in the corner, allowing you to pick up the Star Fragment next to it. Now, backtrack slightly and descend the ladder from the platform you jumped onto after acquiring the Fire Canister.
From this point, go to the right, cross the bridge, and prepare to confront a Dual Wielding Carcass and a Regular Carcass. Eliminate them and enter the hut on the left to find a Radiant Ergo Fragment. Exit the hut through the right doorway and keep to the right side. You’ll notice a ladder next to this hut, so climb it and interact with the Stalker ahead. This will trigger the Owl Doctor boss fight. Like other stalkers, Owl Doctor can be quite troublesome due to their speed. Once you defeat the boss, you can activate the Stargazer for the area.
Barren Swamp Ravine
After activating the Stargazer in the Barren Swamp area of Lies of P, retrace your steps to the Carcass you defeated earlier. Be cautious when jumping in the middle of the ramp since the other planks will break apart upon landing. Proceed carefully to obtain Gemini’s Emergency Protection. To navigate to P’s left side, where you can bridge the gap with a roll, backtrack to where you initially jumped from.
Now head back to the ramp that leads to the Stargazer, but this time, roll to the right to reach the platform where you can pick up a Special Resistance Ampoule. Descend the ladder and approach the bridge to your left, which has exploding barrels on it.
Exercise caution as some Carcasses are lurking to the sides, waiting to attack, as well as a higher-level Carcass mob patrolling the bridge. After eliminating all of them, follow the bridge to its end and take a left to open a Chest containing a Legion Caliber.
Now, backtrack from the bridge and once you’ve crossed to the other side, head left toward the small burning fire. From there, take a right into the narrow pathway. A Puppet Ball will periodically roll in from the right side. Get a sense of the timing and proceed to the left. At the edge of the Puppet Ball’s path, you will find an Attribute Resistance Ampoule to pick up.
Follow the path to where the Ball originates. Along the way, you’ll encounter a Carcass, and a bit further down the path where the Ball rolls, a Red Dimensional Butterfly will spawn, dropping an Advance Crank. Dealing with it can be risky, so let it advance a bit before moving forward yourself. As for you, rush forward and take cover behind an opening to the left to avoid the Puppet Ball.
The butterfly will also move slightly forward, out of the Puppet Ball’s path, allowing you to eliminate it safely. A lone Carcass will attack you here. Beyond it, continue forward, where you’ll see the Puppet Ball beginning to roll. Proceed straight to the edge to collect a Vivid Ergo Fragment. Now backtrack and take the path to the right, where the Puppet Ball spawns. Carefully time your run onto the path to avoid being thrown off the ledge by the Ball.
Once you’ve crossed, take a left, and another Red Dimensional Butterfly will spawn, yielding a Half Moonstone when defeated. Dispose of the Carcasses nearby as well. Follow the path forward and upwards. Seek refuge behind the pillar, staying out of the Puppet Balls’ path, and observe the rhythm. Once you identify a gap, quickly move forward and to the right to retrieve a Dim Ergo Chunk from the edge.
After that, look toward the edge on the right side and observe the Ball rolling downward. Jump down, and a Red Dimensional Butterfly will spawn, granting a Half Moonstone upon defeat. Also, pick up the Fire Abrasive located nearby. Continue forward, where the Puppet Ball emerges, and take a right. Here, you’ll discover a room filled with Carcasses. Eliminate them all, and proceed straight to pick up an Attribute Purification Ampoule.
Now, venture to the left past the bear traps, but be prepared for an encounter with an Elite Animal Mask Carcass. Its tempo is slow but cumbersome, so aim for well-timed parries and utilize your Fable Gauge to dispatch it swiftly. After defeating it, enter the room it emerged from and open the nearby Chest to receive the Arch Disruption Cartridge.
Next, go to the right side of the open room and press the button on the nearby switch. Descend the ladder, and to your right, you’ll find the Stargazer for the area. Rest here if needed. Afterward, climb back up the ladder, turn right, and follow this path. Proceed to the house but remain alert, as a Carcass will burst through the door.
Dispose of it and inside the house, you’ll find a Treasure Chest to the left and an Elite Flame Lamp Carcass to the right. Eliminate the Elite first, then unlock the chest to acquire the City Longspear Blade and City Longspear Handle. Depart from the house, and take the left path to the end, where you can collect a Vivid Ergo Fragment.
Now return to the main path and continue straight. Be prepared, as an Elite Cone Hat Puppet will descend from above. Exercise caution when it approaches with open arms, as this signifies a highly damaging grab attack. The optimal strategy is to focus on stagger damage and expending Fable Art as quickly as possible to eliminate this enemy.
Defeating it will reward you with the Leaping Amulet and Dark Moon Moonstone of the Covenant. Proceed to the campfire near where the puppet landed to retrieve the Carcass Body Fluid Bottle.
Follow the path to its conclusion, where you will encounter a ramp to the right and an open doorway to the left. Enter the left doorway and eliminate the Carcass to the right of the.
How to defeat Green Monster of the Swamp in Lies of P
The first phase of the Green Monster of the Swamp encounter is relatively straightforward. Be vigilant for the unblockable charge attack and execute a perfect guard to defend against it. The Green Monster of the Swamp tends to employ claw attacks while either on all-fours or standing upright. Stay to the side of the swamp monster and seize opportunities to strike, while also ensuring you dodge forward or sideways when it stands up to execute claw attacks.
The second phase of the Swamp monster boss battle presents a different challenge. Now, you’ll be facing the Puppet-Devouring Green Monster in Lies of P. The boss inhabits the body of a Scrapped Watchman, enhancing its abilities with its own and introducing several new, highly aggressive moves. In this phase, the general strategy is to evade the boss’s attacks and position yourself behind the Puppet Devouring monster in Lies of P to inflict damage, as its frontal assaults are exceptionally perilous.
Some of the signature Scrapped Watchman moves include raising its arm and twitching before rushing toward you to slam it down or performing an unblockable slam attack after spinning its arms for a moment. Pay close attention to these cues and respond accordingly. Eventually, you’ll defeat the Puppet Devouring Green Monster of the Swamp, granting you the freedom to proceed to the next stage of Lies of P, where you’ll witness the collapse of all previously visited locations, starting with the ruined Krat Central Station.
