How to defeat King of Puppets in Lies of P
The King of Puppets boss battle in Lies of P unfolds in two distinct stages. Initially, you’ll engage in combat with the King, a robust puppet. Following that, your confrontation will shift to Romeo, the true King of Puppets.
The King of Puppets boasts an extensive repertoire of moves, so it’s advisable to wield a high-damage weapon with a swift attack animation. The goal is to strike with force and speed, as every moment spent winding up your weapon presents an opening for the boss to retaliate.
The initial maneuver employed by the King is the Wind Up Smash, a relatively straightforward move that can be effectively countered with a well-timed dodge or block. Additionally, the King has another attack in his arsenal where he conjures an electrical storm around himself. To play it cautiously, position yourself at a considerable distance from the storm. Alternatively, for a more aggressive approach, close in on the King until you’re practically hugging his legs.
During this window, you have an opportunity to launch your own attacks, as the King will be preoccupied with maintaining the storm. Keep in mind that the King exhibits impressive agility and can easily outmaneuver you if you become careless. Employ a combination of dodging, blocking, and counterattacking, and you’ll eventually wear him down until victory is achieved.
Following your victory over the stocky puppet, a brief cutscene will unfold, revealing that he had been under the control of another puppet concealed within his chest. Emerging from this unexpected twist is Romeo, the genuine monarch of this puppetry realm. Romeo possesses a slender frame, granting him far greater agility than his predecessor.
Brandishing a scythe of near-spear length, Romeo’s strikes cut deep and wide. Expect him to traverse the entire theater with nimble movements, making it challenging to block his attacks. Keep a vigilant eye on the moments when he empowers his scythe with flames.
Anticipate his assaults from various angles, necessitating constant evasion and blocking to avoid injury. You can disrupt his fiery infusion maneuver by executing a heavy attack as he winds up, alleviating some of your concerns, although precision timing is essential.
Adapt your positioning to synchronize with the timing of his attacks, enhancing your opportunities for parrying, counterattacking, and evading.
