Starfield Final Glimpses Mission - How to Get a Ship with a Gravity Jump Range of 21LY

As you complete Constellation missions, you will eventually be tasked with going to Bessel III-A and Freya III. At this point, your progress may stop if you receive a message that you need to get a ship with a gravity jump range of 21LY.

If you haven’t worked with spaceships or leveled up your piloting skills in  Starfield  , this requirement may be difficult to meet. However, you won’t be left completely helpless, and there are several ways to solve this problem.

What are you being asked to do?

To travel between planets and solar systems, you’ll obviously need a spaceship. Traveling through space using conventional methods would take too long, so you’ll have to make gravity jumps. Essentially, it allows you to move through space, allowing you to travel long distances almost instantly.

To make longer gravity jumps, there are two main routes. The first is to improve your Astrodynamics skill, which will increase your gravity jump range no matter what spaceship you’re on. The second option, which we will talk about next, is to get a new ship.

How to purchase a ship with a gravity jump range of 21LY or higher in Starfield

When it comes to purchasing the right ship, you have several options. The most obvious option is to simply buy one, which can be done by visiting a boat service specialist. If you’re in New Atlantis, the cheapest ship you’ll find with a suitable gravity jump range is the Rambler. If you still can’t afford it, try selling some of your trips, completing missions from the mission board, or selling all the junk in your inventory.

How to get a free ship with a gravity jump range of 21LY or higher in Starfield

There are several cases where you can get a suitable ship for free. One way to do this is to select the Childish Stuff trait during character creation. Eventually you will be able to capture Vandervell.

You can also purchase Kepler R or Kepler S from Stroud-Ecklund. To get this ship you will have to complete the Overdesigned mission so that Walter can get this ship. Keep in mind that you will need proper piloting skills before you can use the ship, although you can obtain them whenever a mission is available.

How to upgrade your ship to have a gravity jump range of 21LY or higher in Starfield

If you don’t want to purchase a new ship, you can simply upgrade your existing one, including your Frontier. To do this,  go to the service ship’s technician, where you can upgrade your grav drive and talk about fuel. If you still don’t have the required gravity jump range, you may have to buy a new gravity drive altogether.
