Steam Will Not Be Available on Windows 7 and 8 Systems
An important issue has come to the fore for Steam, the popular game distribution platform signed by Valve . According to the new decision, the number one address for gamers is discontinuing support for old Windows operating systems.
In the future, support will not be provided for the specified versions and it will not be possible to use the platform in these versions.

Following the update on the Steam support page, it was stated that support for Windows 7 and Windows 8 will be discontinued after January 1, 2024 .
This means that users using one of the operating systems on the list will have to say goodbye to Steam after 1 year. You will either switch to new Windows versions or look for a different alternative.
Such a decision was probably made for security and compatibility with future updates. Windows 8 version aside, but we know that Windows 7 version is still used at a serious level. We will see whether this and similar decisions will cause a change in Windows usage rates.
