Where does Assassin's Creed Mirage fit into AC history?

In Assassin’s Creed, Mirage plays Basim, a fan-favorite character after his appearance as a supporting character in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It tells the story of a member of the Hidden Ones when he first started, but it is not the first game in the series.

Because the Assassin’s Creed franchise is so vast and spans a wide range of time periods, it’s hard to know where each game fits. Luckily, based on Basim’s lifespan and the stories surrounding his story, we can understand where AC Mirage fits into the larger picture.

Where does Assassin’s Creed Mirage fit into the Assassin’s Creed chronology?

Assassins Creed Mirage is set between Assassin39;s Creed Origins and Assassin39;s Creed Valhalla . The game takes place in 861 AD, when Basim was a young member of the Hidden Ones. This is the order founded by Aya and Bayek in Assassin39;s Creed Origins, which takes place in 49 BC.

However, at the time of Assassin39;s Creed Mirage, the Hidden Ones had not yet evolved into the Brotherhood of Assassins. This won’t happen until the original Assassin39;s Creed game as we know it, which takes place in 1176 AD, a good couple of hundred years later.

Interestingly, this is the first Assassin39;s Creed game to feature an origin story for a minor character. In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, set in 872 AD, Basim is a wise warrior. This makes sense because he has a lot more experience under his belt than he did in Assassin39;s Creed Mirage.

While this may seem to clear things up since Assassin39;s Creed Mirage takes place after Origins but 11 years before Valhalla, there is something else to note. In the trailers we’ve seen for this game, Basim comes face to face with the entity in his killing corridors.

Killing Corridors are the mind palaces that every Assassin or Hidden goes to when killing a target. Here they conduct their monologues. For Basim, this reveals a creature that fans believe is a genie, also known as a djinn.

Spoilers for anyone who hasn’t completed Assassin’s Creed Valhalla . In Valhalla, Basim was revealed to be under the influence of Loki, although there are many elements to this that will be revealed in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. It looks like this game will reveal Basim’s connection to some entity or his first entity, creating one of the darkest stories in the series.

After the ending of Valhalla, fans were eager to learn more about Basim’s story. All is revealed in Assassin39;s Creed Mirage. Finally, the connection between Basim and beings much more powerful than humans will be shown.
